New CLAiT - Level 1
Suitable for beginners
New CLAiT (OCR Level 1 Certificate/Diploma for IT Users) is a qualification designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of IT users everywhere, whether in employment, education or training.
Flexible learning
Candidates can choose to achieve single units, a certificate or diploma and will receive a certificate for whichever option they achieve. For a certificate they must achieve three units and for a diploma they must achieve five; both options must include a mandatory unit.
Candidates have the choice of achieving as many or as few units as are appropriate for their own learning needs or employment situation.
Progression routes
By offering clear unit progression between levels, learners will see a clear route to success.
New CLAiT also provides a basis for progression to the NVQs which form part of the iTQ suite (NVQ Levels 1, 2 and 3 for IT Users).
Microsoft Office Specialist
Following successful completion of an IC3 or Microsoft Office Specialist test, candidates are able to claim an equivalent CLAiT unit from within the CLAiT 2006 suite. For further details regarding this please refer to the appropriate CLAiT Tutor's Handbook.
